Since I'm in a bit of creativity rut at the moment, I decided to take the time to look back and reflect upon how much my style's changed since The beginning of this year.

Most of the improvements and changes in style are pretty subtle, but when you compare January to December, the differences and improvements are obvious~

January - I honestly don't have much work from January, mostly because I was going through a really tough time with depression and medication issues. I was really sick or depressed most of the time and didn't bother to draw much.
The never-completed Briar Bonds 2 is probably one of the few pieces I may have worked on in January, though it was started mid-December.

February - Along came Tilak in a desperate attempt to bring some humor into that dreary part of my life. Thanks to him, I really got a chance to start dabbling in a more cartoony style due to his exaggerated and more extreme facial expressions.

March - I finally dropped out of school in March due to complications with all the illness, anxiety and depression. I also started drawing more as I started to feel better and had more free time. Not much had really changed from February.

April - Feeling healthier, happier and more artistically ambitious, I actually bothered to color a piece for the first time in almost four months. I took a liking to curls and started using them in hair. Tilak also became a favorite subject of my drawings. He was eccentric, batshit insane and well... fun, unlike the rest of my gloomier cast. Plus that slasher grin... god, that grin is still fun to draw.

May - My sketches were becoming more fluid and relaxed. It may have had something to do with all the alleviated tension from school... I dunno. Continued using whimsical little curls because I found them adorable and fun to draw.

June - Friends got out of school and had more time to chat and brainstorm with me. Didn't get the chance to visit them often, so summer became boring, so boring that I decided to pull out my watercolor paints for the first time all year. Thanks to ~Zarim's new character, I had the chance to play around with even more dramatic cartooning and facial styles.

July - Got bored enough over the summer to start producing more colored work with all my free time. I also went through a crazy Warhammer 40k phase. Tilak developed a new, sleeker design for said universe and with it, less of the crazy slasher grin and more of a sly, cocky smirk. Didn't bother much with my other characters because their stories were filled with holes and I found them uninteresting.

August - Still drawing a whole ton because there wasn't much else to do. I finally looked back at Raos and Autticus again as my insane interest in Tilak started to fade. I began revamping and rewriting their story so it made sense and inspired me again. Though I wasn't doodling Tilak as much, my entire art style was becoming more cartoony and fluid thanks to him.

September - Everyone went back to school and I was lonely and bored again. I started sketching a lot more because most of my free time was spent constructing cosplays for Halloween and a convention in November. I continued to play around with Raos' plot and got into drawing kids after designing his younger self when I wasn't busy sewing.

October - Found more free time to play around and discovered a quicker method to color sketches without inking. I spent a good amount of time writing and staining fabric though so I didn't do much drawing besides memes and sketches.

November - With both cosplays finished, and my story fixed, I started drawing my other characters more. I also started defining their facial features more to make each character look a little more unique. Overall my style was finally becoming more refined.

December - Haven't drawn much this month yet, but I've started working on thinning my lines and my CGing style's become more practical and less tedious. I plan on getting out of the habit of drawing those gigantic cowlicks. They look like they could pick up radio signals and wreck planes.

You got better throughout the year, i on the otherhand became schizophrenic and obsessed with drawing those goddamn nightmares that don't go away. then i was just in a rut of not being able to think of anything to draw, and now i've decided to really do something with the nightmares, and i dont know where to start. I also have more characters than anyone i know, and can't write for shit, but i don't pawn them off because then i'll get angry if i don't like where they're going. so i write myself, the words suck. the story is planned out in my head, just can't go into words. Then i think, and realize my works aren't artworks just shitty kindergarden sketches. GRUNT GRRR RAMBLE RAMBLE RAMBLE, oh hi lindsay. when did you get here?
